The project, which was awarded the special “BusinessART” prize, makes it possible to plan, implement and operate public buildings with a high level of sustainability and in a way that is optimized for subsidies.

Sustainable, public buildings are supported with a subsidy. The basis for this funding is the municipal building certificate (KGA). The Sustainable:Building in the Municipality service package is therefore based on the KGA. The more points scored in the KGA, the higher the subsidy for the municipality.

Support within the framework of the service package in the municipality can also be subsidized by the federal and state governments. The Energieinstitut Vorarlberg takes over the handling for this.

So far more than 115 buildings in Vorarlberg accompanied with the service package

For a good building, not only energy efficiency is crucial, but also the use of regional and ecological building materials that ensure healthy indoor air, as well as the gray energy of the materials used. Through the “Service Package Sustainable:Building”, municipalities as building owners are advised by a team of various experts on the topics of ecological building, energy-efficient implementation, procurement procedures and quality assurance.
